more Greek Fest pics

Wade was quite distressed over the attire of the boy dancers! Not only did they wear a skirt, but a flouncy one!!
We were diggin' the dancing. Reveling in the Greek culture right up until the moment the boys donned these chicken hats! They called it a Rooster dance ... they are fighting over fried fish of yesteryear? Weird!
Us eating our traditional Greek meal of Hotdogs and Cokes ... well Kent and I had ... Chicken Oreganato, Souvlaki, Spanakopita, Fasolakia a Greek Salad with YUMMY Feta Cheese and bread. Later we had some loukoumades (donut holes) ... I had a Frappe and Kent has some Greek Coffee
Here's some more of the dancing close up
The kids on the way out! Sylvi got her face painted while the boys choose to jump and play in an inflatable pirate ship.

Photos and video from Greek Fest

The ampitheatre at the side of the church. Very cool almost ancient in style ... although people kept falling up the stairs. The acoustics were awesome. Bitty girls in their coin scarfs trying to dance to the Greek Music
Wade's pic of the steeple thru the Ampitheatre pillars
Our view from the top of the Ampitheatre of the high school dancers.

Opa! The Greek Festival!

Not posted in a while! We've been studying the country of Greece among other things and today we had the opportunity to go to the Marietta Greek Festival.
Here are a few photos and pics from our trip!

This is the church near Woodstock where the event was held. They were having tours of the inside but everyone was much too grumpy for that!

Sylvi's reading!

It's amazing how fast things change. Yesterday I was worried that maybe Sylvi had a short term memory problem and that I'd need to have her tested for a learning disability. Today she is reading like a champ, lightening fast!
I wish I knew what clicked.
